Nigerian cultism in Italy, arrested several members.

A Nigerian cultist group has been accused of human trafficking, prostitution and drugs in Cagliari, Italy.

This is the "Calypso Nest", linked to the Nigerian cultist band of the Supreme Eiye Confraternity

There are 21 Nigerian citizens arrested by the police of Cagliari as part of the operation "Calypso Nest" which led to the dismantling of a criminal cell specializing in the traffic of heroin and cocaine and in the exploitation of prostitution connected to the cultist group that operates internationally known as Supreme Eiye Confraternity.

Thirty-six of the total suspects, 27 decrees, of which 21 performed between Sardinia, Veneto (Venice) and Campania (Castel Volturno and Napoli). Among the top figures of the clan, which had ramifications all over the world, Fred Iyamu, 32 years old, stands out. All are accused of criminal association mafia, trafficking in human beings exacerbated by the exploitation of prostitution and drug trafficking.

The decrees of detention were requested by the Anti-Mafia Division of Cagliari. The investigation of the Mobile Team started in 2017 and, thanks also to the images recorded by cameras hidden inside a shed where the group met, the police managed to rebuild the entire organization chart of the criminal association with the distinction of roles and the positions held by each affiliate.

"The vanquished group is a true mafia organization with affiliations and corporal punishment for those who do not respect the rules. The group had enormous power of intimidation against the other Nigerians," explains Cagliari Chief of Police Pierluigi D'Angelo.

Once the perpetrators were identified, the investigators understood that they were part of a larger criminal group, called Calypso Nest, and decided to deepen the investigations. The Nigerians have long been stalked and intercepted.

It was thus identified the place where the clan gathered, a shed in Selargius, near Cagliari: here were meetings between the leaders of the organization to plan drug trafficking and the exploitation of prostitution. Then the leaders organized 'general meeting' with the participation of all the affiliates to assign the tasks and to issue the directives.

The organization operated on two levels: the international one through the Supreme Eiye Confraternity led by Fred Iyamu, 32 years old, and the Italian one with the Calypso Nest, at the top of which was indicated Driss Amhed, 41 year old, called by all "Flyng Ibaka".

The Calypso clan was also divided into two groups: directive and executive. Eimiebo Clement, 33 years old, Ostrich, the 'ostrich', and Moses Earon, the 'dove', were part of the first. At the top of the executive committee consisting of eight members was Richard Obadiaro Iyamu, 30, called the "Flight commandant".

The suspects were almost all in possession of a regular residence permit for humanitarian reasons. They were in Italy for at least three years. Few had a job, and if they had it, it was occasional. Many of them made people believe they were living with expedients: some members of the organization controlled by investigators in the months leading up to the arrests were reported in front of bars and supermarkets begging for help.

Others have been noticed for having beaten a compatriot who had 'occupied' the place of the begging assigned to another Nigerian.
The trial for the assault had been paid directly by the clan, but then he had harshly rebuked the affiliate for his audience reaction that had ended up attracting the attention of law enforcement.

Ahmed Driss, 41-year-old from Ivory Coast. Eimiebo Clemente, 33-year-old Nigerian. Earon Moses, 39-year-old Nigerian. Iyamu Obadiaro Richard, 30-year-old from Nigeria. Lazarus Kenneth Chiejene, 48-year-old Nigerian. Okofor Anthony, 20-year-old Nigerian, locked up in the Uta prison, considered one of the leaders of the organization. Anthony Isaiah, 25-year-old Nigerian currently locked up in Uta. Jack Williams, 23 year-old Nigerian. Stefania Schiappa, 48 year old from Quartu Sant'Elena and currently in prison. Onaghise Samuel, Nigerian 43-year-old 34-year-old. Charles Henry. Okamigbo Chigozie, 35-year-old. Iyamu Fred, 32-year-old Nigerian resident in Padova. 44-year-old Nigerian Enogieru Loveth and Ehimwenma Edith 27, Nigerian.

They are the arrested, the accusations are various: mafia association, trafficking in human beings exacerbated by the exploitation of prostitution and trafficking of drugs. The investigations started in 2017 on the part of the Cagliari mobile team, which allowed to stop a criminal operation associated to the Supreme Eiye Confraternity, operating internationally. The drug (7.5 kilos of cocaine and eroine), came from South Africa, Mozambique and the Netherlands, thanks to the intermediation of compatriots residing in Como, Napoli and Castelvolturno.
