According to the reconstruction of the crime, on 18 July the 46-year-old italian man had contacted the girl through some messages on Facebook, inviting her to go out in the evening and promising a great time. A ride on her bike, a drink, "then I show you my big house", he said. The 21-year-old had accepted and, after a night in a club, the two had moved to the attic of the man, known in the city as the owner of a well-known sportswear shop.
Arrived in the his penthouse, Pesci called Anihem, the nigerian man, on the phone and asked him to bring some drugs. Then the two overpowered the girl, tied her up and gagged her and then tortured her for hours with whips and other objects later found in the house. Back home, the young girl did not even have the courage to speak to her parents, but she was very ill and could not even eat because of the lesions in her mouth. It was the mother who took her to the hospital, where the doctors found lesions and bruises all over her body, with a prognosis of 45 days. The investigation of the Parma Police Mobile Squad, which led to the arrest of the two, started from the hospitalization.
