Syracuse Sicily in Italy, 20 year old killed with a knife and thrown into a well: the boyfriend confesses

The young man collapsed after being interrogated for hours: he murdered his partner out of jealousy.

A 20 year old, Italian girl Laura Petrolito, mother of two children, was stabbed to death in the hills above Canicattini Bagni, in the province of Syracuse. The boyfriend, Paolo Cugno, confessed to the crime: he killed her out of jealousy. 

After the murder, the young woman's body was thrown into an artesian well. The disappearance of the woman was reported Saturday night by his father, who could not get in touch with either her daughter or her partner.

The woman was killed Saturday night around 10pm. The body, thrown into the well, got stuck between the plates and did not get to the bottom.

The killer tried to push her down, but by failing he closed the well with a metal lid and walked away. Investigators immediately carry out the investigation on the girl's companion, who after a long interrogation he confessed and was arrested for murder.

Abandoned by her mother when she was three years raised by her father with the help of the social workers of the City, Laura Petroliti had two young children, the biggest fruit of a love affair that ended badly, and the second, of 8 months, born of relationship with Paolo Cugno, agricultural laborer. 

Even with him, however, the relationship was not idyllic: the couple, they told some witnesses heard by the investigators, had problems for some time.

 A victim's aunt reported that her niece had been beaten by her partner several times, but had never wanted to file a complaint.

Saturday night the two boys, who lived at the home of Laura's father, went away for a walk leaving their 8-month-old daughter (the girl's first child lives with her paternal grandmother), but neither of them returned home. Concerned, the victim's father thus gave the alarm. Volunteers and the police "carabinieri" have scoured the area, arriving, Sunday morning, at the well in which the woman's body was found. Laura was stabbed several times, and then her body was thrown into the well.
